ポラリスは 日本アイビーリーグ同窓生協会（The Ivy League Alumni Associations of
Japan）と共催で5月27日木曜日にトークイベントを開催します。理事を務める
ジェイク・アデルスタイン氏がみなさんに日本の人身取引問題など、闇産業についてお話します。

ジェイク・アデルスタイン
ポラリスプロジェクト日本事務所理事。
アデルスタイン氏は1993年 から2005年まで、読売新聞の記者として勤務し、その後2006年から
2007年までアメリカ政府の委託による日本での人身売買研究の主席研究員を務めました。
著書『TOKYOVICE』はその間に得た経験に基づいています。日本における組織犯罪研究の
第一人者として、現在日本及びアメリカにて著述や、コンサルタント業を行っています。

ポラリスプロジェクト
2002年にワシントンDC に本部を創立した後、2004年に日本支部を設立したポラリスはアドボカシー
や被害者支援、研修を通じて人身売買対策に取り組んできました。創立以来ポラリスは世界で最も
大きな反人身売買組織の一つとして成長し、これまでに著名な団体から様々な賞を獲得してきまし

On Thursday, May 27 2010 for its latest event, Polaris Project will
host author Jake Adelstein and other representatives of Polaris
Project to speak on issues related to human trafficking and crime in
Japan. The venue is the Tokyo 21c Club, located in the Shin Maru
building near Tokyo station (1-5-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku), and the
event will last from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Soft drinks and a light buffet
will be served and the cost per person is 5,000 yen. Proceeds after
costs from the event will go directly to Polaris Project.

JAKE ADELSTEIN
Jake Adelstein will be the main speaker for the evening and is the
public relations director for Polaris. From 1993 to 2005, Jake was a
reporter for the Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan's largest newspaper. From 2006
to 2007 he was the chief investigator for a U.S. State
Department-sponsored study of human trafficking in Japan. Jake also
wrote the book "Tokyo Vice" about his experiences with both jobs.
Considered one of the foremost experts on organized crime in Japan, he
works as a writer and consultant in Japan and the United States.

ABOUT POLARIS PROJECT
Founded in 2002 in Washington DC with the Japan branch established in
2004, Polaris Project combats human trafficking through advocacy work,
outreach and education. Since its establishment, Polaris has grown to
become of the largest organizations of its kind in the world and has
won awards from numerous organizations, including Ashoka Innovators
for the Public and the DO Something BRICK award. Polaris Japan is a
registered NPO in Japan and Polaris USA is a 501(c)3 NGO in the United

『Young Days of C.A.Lindberg "大空の向こうへ"』

ウィスコンシン大学出身の偉人の一人、チャールズ・A・リンドバーグ。
本作品は、『夢』や『信じる』という２つのテーマを元にして、
リンドバーグの大学生時代をエネルギッシュに描いた作品になっています。
物語の中では、ウィスコンシン大学は勿論のこと、メンドータ湖湖畔や軍事教練場
であったレッド・ジムなども登場します。
円形劇場ならではの360度スクリーンを生かしながら、約５０分間一時も目が離せない劇
となっていますので、是非劇場に足をお運びください。
（尚、本公演はレパートリー形式となっていますので、『Young Days of
C.A.Lindberg "大空の向こうへ"』以外の作品も上演致します。）

神戸生まれ。ウィスコンシン大学にて博士号(Ph.D.)を取得。日本のアイデンティティの象徴（シンボル）としてのコメや桜を比較の観点から広く社会・政治的なコンテクストで解釈した、文化人類学者としての日本の歴史研究で世界的に名高い。主な、著書に『学徒兵の精神誌』（岩波書店、2006年）；『ねじ曲げられた桜：美意識と軍国主義』（岩波書店、2003年）；『コメの人類学：日本人の自己意識』（岩波書店、1995年）；『日本人の病気観』（岩波書店、1985年）などがあります。本講演では、日本人のアイデンティティの一つのシンボルである『桜』に対する美意識とナショナリズムの問題について考えます。

  • ウィスコンシン大学マディソン校日本同窓会は、会員の年会費によって運営されています。
  • 年会費は1,000円です。

  • 年会費は毎年開催されます同窓会にてお支払い下さい。
