UW Sympathies（平成23年3月16日）
To our alumni in Japan,
I was saddened to hear of the news of last week's earthquake and tsunami. I cannot begin
to imagine the effects of this terrible tragedy. Along with the university community, I hope that
you and your families are safe and have not suffered greatly. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of all those who have been injured, had their property destroyed, or who have lost their lives.
We here in Madison are closely following news reports about government and community relief efforts. My office and other campus groups are trying to make everyone in the university community aware of ways in which we can help.
