Dear Friend of the University of Wisconsin-Madison,


One of my key strategic priorities for UW-Madison is building greater international presence. This will require new ways of communication and sharing knowledge. Seven years ago, UW-Madison created the Asian Partnership Initiative. Through that partnership, we have developed many collaborative relationships in our efforts to grow internationally.


In January, I will be visiting several countries in Asia. During this trip, I hope that you will attend the reception for UW-Madison Alumni in Japan. This reception will be an important opportunity for us to meet, share ideas and discuss how to enhance the partnerships between the UW and our alumni abroad.


I believe that the involvement of our alumni is key to continued success in our global endeavors. Please plan to join me for this unique and interesting meeting. I look forward to seeing you soon.
